[Deed Book 7, pg. 330-331] June 2, 1796 – I Solomon ALCOCK Esq. Sheriff have been commanded by a Writ of Fiers Facias issued out of County Court to cause the sum of £183 7 Shillings 8 pence out of the goods, chattles & lands of Willis BALLANCE, Josiah NICHOLSON & John WILLIAMS, which was lately recovered by Edward WEST. In obedience I entered & took possession of a piece of land. Beginning at the first Little Bridge on the casway after Tulls Creek Bridge up the road to BALLANCEs West line then to the division line between this land & Dorstus WILLIAMS along the dividing line to the first containing 50 acres. After legal notice land was put up for sale on Jan. 27, 1796 where and when Edward WEST appeared & bid £162 10 Shillings & by virtue of Writ I Solomon ALCOCK Sheriff have granted & conveyed said property to Edward WEST.  Witness [torn] WILLIAMS, [torn] BUNNILL; Registered July 21, 1796

[Deed Book 7, pg. 379] Sept. 10, 1796 – Edward LEACH and his wife Sarah sold to Jacob DUNTON for 400 Spanish milled dollars, 79 acres joining Benjamin COX, the dividing line between Josiah Nicholson & Leech to a corner that Leech bought of Benjamin Cox thence along the road to Levan Ballance along his line to the swamp along the swamp side to EPHRIAM ROBINSON  /s/ Edward LEACH. [Deed Book 7, pg. 396]  Feb 11, 1797 – William BALLANCE and Margaret his Wife sold to William BRUMSEY for £300, a tract of land beginning at a pine stump on the swamp side of John BALLANCEs corner to the Widow PARKERs line various courses to the first station, containing 80 acres.  Witness: Thomas BAXTER, Isaiah PARR.  Registered March 23, 1797

[Deed Book 7, pg. 452-453] Dec.2, 1796 – I Tulley WILLIAMSON for the sum of 100 Silver dollars paid to me by Griffin NICHOLSON for a piece of land in the Cowinjock district. Beginning at a corner between Demsey BALLANCE & Lamuel WALKER various courses to Robert POYNERs new patent line with his line to Ware Stick Branch then to the first containing 30 ¼ acres being part of the land taken up by John WALKER in the year 1713 & conveyed by John WALKER & Sarah his Wife to Thos.
