Wayne County, NC – Jacob Herring, Administrator of Elisha Pipkin Estate, 1826
Know all men by these presents that I Jacob Herring of the County of Wayne
and State of North Carolina am held and firmly bound unto Lewis Pipkin of
Cumberland County and State aforesaid as administrator to his father Elisha
Pipkin estate dec’d the sum of eight hundred and seventy three dollars
to which payment I bind myself my heirs and executors firmly and justly
severally and witness my hand and seal this 7th Jan’r 1826
The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden
Jacob Herring doth expend to the said Lewis Pipkin as administrator to his
father Elisha Pipkin Dec’d estate of there should henceforth be any lawful
and just demand against the said Lewis Pipkin as administrator to his father
Elisha Pipkin dec’d estate an equilavent part with all the heirs of by law
of Elisha Pipkin Dec’d estate then the above bond is to be void otherwise to
remain in full force and virtue

Cumberland County }
Know all men by these presents that I Jacob Herring of the county of Wayne
and State above mentioned to bind myself my heirs executors administrators
and assigns for a bond of four hundred dollars to make a right to a certain
piece or parcel of land to Lewis Pipkin of the County & state above mentioned
the land lying and being in the county of Cumberland and State of North
Carolina on the upper side of upper little river between that and Cape Fear
River it being the undivided interest of my wife Lucretia in a piece of land
left to her by her share from her father Elisha Pipkin dec’d the conditions
of this bond is that after said Jacob Herring together with his wife do make
and bequeath to the said lands to Lewis Pipkin the name above mentioned after
it is divided this bond of word and ___ affected the said Jacob Herring have
hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this the 7 day of February 1825
