To all to whom these presents shall come Greetings – Know Ye That we for and in Consideration of the sum of Fifty Shillings for any Hundred acres Hereby Granted paid into our Treasury by William Hatcher have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said William Hatcher a tract of Land Containing Two Hundred Acres lying and being in the County of Johnston. Beginning at a black jack and runs thence East One Hundred and Twenty Nine poles to a pine in a Branch thence North One Hundred and Twenty Nine poles to a stake in Center of four pines thence West One Hundred and Twenty Nine poles to a stake in Moses? Oneals line thence with said Line and past the —- to the beginning. Entered 29th day of August 1797 as by the plat Hereunto annexed doth appear: together with all Woods, waters, mines, minerals, Heriditaments and appurtenances to the sand Land belinging or appertaining: To Hold to the said William Hatcher his Heirs and assigns forever yielding and paying to us such sums of Money, yearly or otherwise as our General Assembly from time to time may direct. Provided always that the said Grantee shall cause this Grant to be registered in the Register’s Office of the Said county of Johnston within twelve months from the date Hereof, otherwise the same shall be void and of no affect. In Testimony whereof We have caused these our Letters to be made patent and our —- Seal to be Hereunto affixed.
