parcel of land situated — in the County of Lenoir — ADJ TO:
patent granted to Alexander Kilpartrick and transferred to Henry Turner
and from said Turner to said John Partridge, Ephraim Vause line —–
containing by estimation One hundred and forty five acres it being all
the lands that I the said John Partridge holds or claims in the above

Pitt and State of North Carolina of the one part and Frederick Baker of
the County of Lenoir and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth
that for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred & forty Seven
silver dollars to me in hand paid the rect whereof I the said Joel
Patrick doth acknowledge myself therewith fully satisfied it being in
full satisfaction of a mortgage deed given to John Coart aforesaid By
Simon Bright hath Bargained and sold and by these present doth Bargin
and sel unto Frederick Baker — a certain tract or parcel of land

To the Worshippful Court Pursuant to your orders to us directed for the
purpose of Summoning a jury for the purpose of a laying off & allotting
to the widow of Frederick Baker deceased her dower in the lands of the
said deceased . I have summoned the following jury & the Surveyor of
the County agreeable to law who after being sworn have proceded to
layoff & allot to Louisa Baker widow of the said deceased the following
lands (to wit) One tract of three hundred acres purchased of Elijah
Baker, one tract of nine acres purchased of the said Elijah & one other
tract of thirty three acres purchased of John Varnam all of which said
tracts lies adjoining & including the houses and plantation whereon the
said deceased last lived & containing in the whole five hundred &
twenty seven acres and which we the jury undersigned do lay off and a
lot to the said Louisa Baker in lieu of Dower in the lands of her said

This Indenture made the second day of February Eighteen hundred and
twenty six between Willie Mosely of the State of North Carolina and
County of Lenoir of the one part and Mathew Mosely of the aforesaid
—- witnesseth that the said Willie Mosely for the sum of fifty
dollar to him in hand paid by the said Mathew Moseley — convey unto
the said Mathew Moseley one parcel of land containing Eight acres
beginning at a stake in the road that leads from Jones Bridge to
Snowhill on the southside of Wheat Swamp at the line between Ezikiel
Johnson and lot number one and runs South with Johnson’s line to or
near Tuckers line thence with Joshua Tuckers line to lot Number two
thence with lot number two to the said road thence to the beginning in
Johnsons line it being one sixth part of lot number one which fell to
the said Willie Mosely by death of his sister Patsey Killpatrick —
free and clear from any manner of incumbeances except the dower of
Susannah Moseley.

deeds of trust bearing date the 4th day of April AD 1838 and the 14 Day
of June 1845 convey to Pinckney Hardee for a certain purpose a certain
tract which way included in the old ferry tract of land containing one
acre lying in the County aforesaid on the Southside of Neuse River &
being known as ? Cox tract above the cove — & whereas the said
Pinckney Hardee ——- deed of trust advertise & sell the said seine

This Indenture made the first day of February AD One Thousand Eight
Hundred and Sixty Nine between E. T. Cox, Sheriff of the County of
Lenoir and State of North Carolina on the one part and W. T. Mosely of
the county of Lenoir —— by virtue of an execution issued from the
Superior Court of law —- in the name of W. C. Bail ??, plaintiff
against Jno. C. Washington & W. W. Canady ? defendant for the sum of
$3000 with interest on $2806.50 ??? Also on the other executor ?? in
the name of W. E. Dulin ??? & wife and others plantiffs against Jno
C. Washington for the sum of $ 143.71 ???? with interest on $1741.83
from April 15 1863 which was recovered by said plantiff two dollars of

This Indenture made this the (no date) one thousand Eight hundred and
Sixty Seven Between R. H. Rountree, W. H. Rountree & Jane E. Loftin of
the County of Lenoir No Carolina and A. J. Loftin of the County of
Craven, No Carolina, all of whom of the first part and C. F. White and
G. W. White of the County of Craven of the second part : witneseth that
the said parties of the first part —- do rent ? — to the parties
of the second part that portion of their farm they hold as tenants in
common descended to them from W. C. Loftin ? dec on the Southside of
Moseley’s Crk and containing about a three horse farm (ninety acres)
reserving to themselves the entire control of one half of the dwelling
house and one half of all out houses (gin excepted) for the use of any
other person —- on the north side of Moseley creek, the side of ?
White and G. W. White are to have the sole use and control of the Gin,
Gin houses and cotton screw ??? —- during the term of ??? year ending
the first of January one thousand eight hundred and Sixty eight and the
following are the terms, conditions — viz – the rent —- shall be
five hundred dollars —- and the said parties of the second part agree
to repair the fence and clean out the ditches — and plant cotton —

—- paid by said W. T. Mosely in receipt —–granted, bargined and

Windsor Vause and wife Barbara justly indebted to Abner Dawson in the
amount of nine thousand pounds cotton —– to be paid as follows:
nine hundred pounds the first day of January 1878, Two Thousand twenty
five pounds the first day of January 1879; two thousand and Twenty five
pounds the first day of January 1880, Two Thousand and twenty five
pounds the first day of January 1881; two thousand and Twenty five
pounds the first day of January 1883. Then the above deed to be null &
void otherwise in full force and effect and should Windsor Vause fail
to make the second payment then Abner Dawson the first payment as rent
and Windsor Vause hereby conveys to Abner Dawson his crop to secure the
first payment should Windsor Vause fail to make any payment 13 March
1877
