p606 Robert Flake, age 70, said that Wm. Evans on his death bed said that Mr. James Benn should have a deed of 400 acres out of his 500 acres on Kinsale as Mr. Ben has paid for it.  10 Aug 1692.  Katherine Pierce, exrx. of Wm. Evans, aged 25, said that her former husband Wm. Evans said that 400 acres belonged to James Benn.  Thomas Moore said that he wrote Wm. Evan’s will and that he gave his remaining land at Kinsale to his son Thomas Evans.  Thomas Pierce and Kath. his wife deed the said 400 acres to James Benn, John Giles, James Tullaugh, Hen. Applewhaite, Jas. Day.

A grant to Hodges Council, the younger and Thomas Mann of 200 acres 23 Feb. 1690.  These assign to Wm. Kerle. 9 Sept. 1692.

Nicholas Cobb, son of Nicholas Cobb, dec. sells to Edward Cobb his brother 200 acres called John Hones plantation  9 Aug 1686.  Ed Cobb deeds his interest to Andrew Woodley.  14 Sept. 1691.  John Giles, James Tullaugh, Roger Stevens.

Nicholas Cobb sells John Joanes 150 acres Nov. 1, 1666.  Walter Johnston, John (X) Portis.Hodges Council of Lower Par. did give to Joseph Vick 50 acres 20 Dec. 1675.  Said Hodges and wife Lucy agree to divide correctly as to boundry.  6 Oct. 1692.  Wm. Keele.

p291-282  “Mr William Pierce” of Capt of Gov. Wyatt’s Grand & Lt. Gov. at James City in 1629.  An ancient planter having come over with Sir Thomas estates in 1609, also was a member of Va. council in 1631. Capt Pierce owned land both upon Lawne’s Creek and Mulberry Island.  In 1628, one Lt. Thomas Flint rec’d a 1000 # grant upon Southern Shore of Warwick River (Mulberry Island) adjacent to land patented by John Rolfe, Esq. dec’d & Capt. Wm. Pierce.  Jane Pierce, dau of Capt Pierce, was third wife of John Rolfe, whose 1st wife was Pocahontes.

22 Jun 1635 Capt Wm. Pierce, one of council of State patented 2000 acres upon Lawne’s creek near Wm. Spencer. . . . in 1640 Capt. Wm. Pierce converged 50 acres on Lawne’s Creek adjacent ot Wm. Spencer.
