State of No Carolina,

Wayne County – This Indenture made the first day of October One thousand Seven Hundred and ninety six, between James Bardin of the county and state aforesaid send greeting, know ye that I the said James Bardin for and in consideration of the sum of ten pounds specie(?) to me in hand paid before the ensealing or delivery hereof by Jesse Aycock of the said state and county aforesaid planter receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge self to be there with fully ? contents and paid have granted bargained sold conveyed & assigned confirmed & led over unto the said Jesse Aycock one certain

Tract or parcel of Land or at least all my right Title Interest claim or demand in and to a certain tract or parcel of Land being & lying in said county & state & on the great swamp being the remainder part of a tract of Land granted to Jacob Bardin died by patent bearing date the 15th of October 1761 which Tract of Land was one half being two hundred and sixty two acres, that was intended to be conveyed to him said Jesse Aycock by said Jacob Bardin but through an omission or Miss Lake of the penronan in the second Line mentioned in said Deed by only going in the No(North) course 150 pole instead of 300 pole therefore One hundred & thirty one acres is left out of said Deed of convey to have and to hold unto him the said Jesse Aycock his Heirs & assigns all the said right, Title, Interest or demand which J said James Bardin have in and to the said remainder part of the two hundred & sixty two acres left out by the said Ltirtake(?) in said second and North Line of said Deed of Conveyance from said Deed to said Jesse containing one hundred & thirty acres Land by extending the said No(North) line to the Patent Line, then Et(?) to the corner, then So(south) to the corner mentioned in said Deed from thence to the beginning hereof to the only proper use benefit of him said Jesse Aycock his Heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use benefit and behoof forever and the said James Bardin for myself my Heirs Exors(?) & admrs(?) the ford(?).  One hundred and thirty one acres land by the said bound, against myself my heirs to and all person or persons claiming from or under me or them or any of them but against no other person or persons whatsoever unto him said Jesse Aycock his heirs & assigns, do & will warrant & forever defend, Witness my hand & seal the day and year first above mentioned.
