Dad and Mom are still at Crestview Care Center is Provo.
In March, we have to do some changing, since Dad has an insurance policy that states you have to go out for six months and then can return to the care center, for the coverage to be in effect. We don't know what we will do, yet, but are exploring the idea. Mom is wheelchair bound...can't stand on her legs in any way. So she is in the chair or on the bed...and diapered. She is always cheerful and has a big smile for anyone. She generally knows who you are, can't remember if she has called you ten times in a day or not!!! but is a pleasant person to be around. We didn't know if Dad was going to make it...Nov. 19 was his 84th birthday, we gathered for a small "party" for him. He was ready to die. He has seen his Dad and Mom's Dad, also...coming to visit with him.
Well, we took him off most of his medications except an antidepressant, and he is so much better. I helped them send out Christmas Cards...if you are on their list, then you got one. Mom signed 54 cards while Dad signed 18. You can barely understand his signature, now...he was such a penman....since he was left handed and got whacked over the knuckles many times in the early days of schooling when "they" thought he had to write with the right hand...and was determined to do it with the right hand better than the left, since they "hurt" him so bad.
I haven't heard from Tina, yet...I am hoping to get a letter soon. She is Dale's daughter, living in Boise, her Mom, Helen was Dale's wife. She was not doing well, the last time we corresponded. Helen is going blind, but Tina has her help with the babies in her daycare there...it is for children two and under, since there is such a demand for that age group. |
