Halibut Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb frozen halibut or mahi mahi

White Sauce

  • 2 TB butter
  • 2 TB flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup milk

Add to white sauce

  • 1 cup grated cheddar
  • 1 cup chopped cooked medium onion
  • 2 boiled eggs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Steam fish over boiling water on rack in covered kettle about 20 min.

  2. Remove skin and bones, break in medium small pieces, adding sprinkles of salt.

Add fish in layers with:

  1. white sauce (with added ingredients) and 1 can cream of celery soup

  2. Top with crumbs or potato chips

  3. Bake 350 degrees 40-50 minutes
