Full-of-Fruit Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup fruit cake mixed fruit glazed
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 tsp lemon extract
  • 1 egg

Second set ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar

Dry Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Frosting

  • 1 cup oleo or butter
  • 1 pound powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp rum flavoring

Instructions

  1. Stir first ingredients together.

  2. Cream the shortening and sugar and add the irst ingredients.

  3. Sift flour and mix with rest of dry ingredients.

  4. Mix into fruit mixture.

  5. Let stand at room temperature 1 hour.

  6. Pat the mixture into pans.

  7. Will fill two 12x8 pans.

  8. Bake until done.

  9. Mix the frosting ingredients. Frost the cake while still warm but not hot.
