Chicken a la King

Ingredients

  • 2 oz can mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup diced cooked chicken
  • 1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup cream or rich milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped pimento

Instructions

  1. Saute mushrooms and green pepper in butter

  2. Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Let bubble

  3. Slowly stir in chicken brother and cream

  4. Bring to boiling over low heat, stirring constantly.

  5. Boil 1 min. Add chicken and pimento and heat through

  6. Serve in popovers.
