Land Grant Maudlin, Morgan, Perisho, Toms, Wilson, and Nicholson

Ezekiel Maudlin, James Morgan grant 1684 James and Eleanor Perisho grant 1681, Francis Toms grant, bridge over Vosses Creek, Vosses Creek Meeting House built on Francis toms land, Samuel Charles grant  (Hannah Nicholson Maudlin widow of Ezekiel Maudlin second husband). Blount’s point on Perq. River he came to Perq. county 1673, Robert Wilson to Perq. County by April 1689, Christopher Nicholson owned land in 1672, Robert Wilson grant it was exactly where the town of Hertford is now located (Colonial Records Vol. 1 p 469) in 1696 the records show that there were in Carolina 60 or 70 scattered failies settled principally along the water front for 20 miles up little river shore and around to Perq. river, the inlet of Roanoke was frequented by small vessels trading to an from the West Indies.  Pirates and run-away slaves to this place from Virginia.
