In the Name of God Amen I William Ballands of Currituck Precinct in Albramarl County in the Province of North Carolina being very Sick/and Weak of body yet having my perfect Sences and Remembrance / thanks be to God for it do maek this my last Will and Testament in / Manner and form following & making Void all Other Wills or [ ] / I formerly made by these presents first I commit my Soul into the Protection of Jesus Christ hoping and believing that he by his Meretorious / Death and Passion hath Purchased Eternall Salvation for the same & / my body to the Earth to be buried after a christian Manner at the Dis = / cretion of m Executrix hereafter Mentioned And as to my Worldly / Goods / dispose of in Manner and form following I Constitute Ordain/ and make my Loving Wife Mary Ballands my whole & Sole Executrix / of all my Goods and chattells she Paying all my Debts and legacys  According to the Tenour of this my Will and of my said Estate first / I Give unto my Son Samuel, Eight Hundred Acres of Land with my / my [sic] main Dwelling Plantation upon it unto him the said SAMUEL / and the Heirs of his Body Lawfully begotten for ever.
I give unto my Daughter MARY One Hundred and fifty Acres of Land Joining unto / the said Eight Hundred And at that End Near the Tract Ponds unto / her the said MARY and to heirs of her body Lawfully begotten forever.
I Give unto my Son William my Plantation at the Swamp and one / half of the Land belonging unto it to him the said WILLIAM and the / Heirs of his Body lawfully Begotten forever and the other half of the / said Tract of Land I Give unto my Son RICHARD and to the Heirs of  his Body lawfully begotten.
My Desire is that the said Tract of Land be / Divided between WILLIAM and RICHARD by a Br[anc]h Calld The Stirrup Branch
I Give to my Daughter LURETHA One hald of my Land / which JOSEPH CH Surveyed for me to her the said LURETHA an]d to / the H[eirs] of her Body Lawfully begotten for ever.  ANd the [torn] / of the said Tract of Land I Give unto my Daughter CATHERINE & / unto the Heirs of her Body lawfully begotten forever and further / my Will and Desire is that if any of my Children do Die with out / Such Isaac as is Aforementioned that then the Estate that { less / his or her inheritance of Land

Deceased or the Eldest without Lawfully / Begotten of hir or her Body Surviving And as for the Rest of my Goods / and Chattles I Give unto my Loving Wife MARY BALLANDS during / her life and so Long as she Remaineth a Widow and also the / Whole [ ] and Profitt of my Now Dwelling Plantation and

    I give unto my said Wife during her Life or so long as / she [remaineth] a Widow And at the Expiration of the term of / her [W]idowhood my Desire is that all my Moveable estate / be Equally Divided Amongst all my Children Only I Give unto my / Daughter [ ]  and two Year old Heffer more than her Equal Share / And further it is my Desire that if my Children [ ] if they / do come of Age or be Capable of [ ] ing for them selves they shall / not have Power to Disturb of Claim any Part of my Estate / Nither Real nor Personal during the Term of their Mothers life or/ Widow hood But they may Seat by her Upon the Several Devises / of Land belonging to them.
And further it is my Desire that my / Wife shall have L [ ] of all my Whole Estate Immediately / after my Decease And it is my desire that my Children may / have Possession of their Equal Shares of my Whole Estate be it / real and Personal According to their Several Devises Immedi=/=ately After their Mothers deceas or term of her widowhood It is my Desire that if my Children Survive their Mother That / then the Eldest of them take care of the rest of them and what/ belongs to them and to have the Increase of their Cattle for / Maint [ain]ing of them until they come of Age It is my Desire / that M [RICH]ARD BRIAN M. WiLLIAMS ALLEN and WILLIAM /BATEMAN shall see this my Testament Equally fulfilled amongst / my [Child]ren According to the Tenour Above Mentioned and t[hat] / the [ ] Intent and meaning of this.  Within mentioned Will/ I have [torn] 25th of November / 1700

In the name of God amen I Henary Etheredge of Coratuick County being very/Sick and weak of body but of perfect Sence and Memry thinks be to god for it but/ now knowing that is ordained for all men once to die doe make this my last Will / and testament In Maner and form as followeth feirst I Give my soul to almight God / who gave it me and my body to the Earth to be buried at the discretion of my Exectors / heare after mendhened and my worly goods I despose of in manner and form as folloeth.

Itham I give and bequeath unto my Son SAM ETHEREDGE one young mair which he is now / pressed of only the first Coult She brings to be a yar ould to be fore my Son WILLIAM ETHEREDGE / but all the Rest of her in Crease to him the said SAM and his heairs for Ever /one ads one ooger and one draying knife

Ithom I Give and bequeath unto / my Son WILLIAM ETHERIDGE one hefer belongin to Stump with all her in Crease to him and his heairs / for Ever with two Ewes and one lam and one great broad ax

Ithem I give and bequeath unto my Son /JOHN ETHEREDGE one young mair with all her Increase to him and his heairs for Ever with one heifer and lam / and one Goat and one Sow and Eight pigs

Ithem I give and bequeath unto my Son HENARY ETHEREDGE / two Cows and one yearling with all thear increase to him and his heairs for Ever with one Ewe lam / two Sows and a leven Pigs 2 puter basons 2 Glase botels and one Small Iron pot
