The first Deed of record in Goochland County was executed by Jacob Michaux and John Michaux, of the County of Henrico, Parish of St. James and conveyed to Daniel Croom 300 acres of land on the south side of James River, it being the land bequeathed by Abraham Michaux, deceased, to his sons Jacob and John. The deed is dated April 21, 1727, and was recorded May 21, 1728.
