State of North Carolina , JOHNSTON COUNTY . 283 – COURT OF PLEAS AND QUARTER SESSIONS . May Term 1857 KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS , That ve Daniel Ballance H. B. Ballance and James Hinnant all of Johnston County , in the State aforesaid , are held and firmly bound unto the State of North Carolina , in the sum of Twelve hundred dollars , to be paid to the said State , in trust , for the benefit of the child — hereafter named , committed to the tuition of the said Daniel Ballance to which payment well and truly to be made , we bind ourselves , and each of us , each and every of our heirs , executors and administrators , jointly and severally , firmly by these presents . Sealed with our seals , and dated the 25th day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & forty Seven The Condition of the above Obligation is such , That whereas the above bounden Daniel Ballance is constituted and appointed Guardian to Robert T. D. Ballance – Minor Orphan : now if the said David Ballance shall faithfully execute his said Guardianship , by securing and improving all the estate of the said Robert T. D Ballance that shall come into his possession for the benefit of the said Robert T. D. Ballance until he shall arrive at full age , or be sooner thereto required , and then render a plain and true account of his said Guardianship , on oath , before the Justices of our Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions for Johnston County , and deliver up , pay to , or possess the said Robert T. D. Ball of all such estate or estates as he ought to be possessed of , or to such other persons as shall be lawfully empowered or authorized to receive the same , and the profits arising therefrom , then this obligation to be void ; otherwise , to be and remain in full force and virtue . Ballance 47 all of Johnston County , in the State aforesaid , are held and firmly bound unto the State of North – Carolina , in the sum of Two thousand ( $ 2000 ) dollars current money , to be paid to the said State , in trust , for the benefit of the child hereafter named , committed to the tuition of the said Daniel Ballance to which payment well and truly to be made , we bind ourselves , and each of us , each and every of our heirs , executors and administrators , jointly and severally , firmly by these presents . Sealed with our seals , and dated the 26th day of February in the year of our Lord 1861 appoint Now if fully ex R The Condition of the above Obligation is such , That , whereas the above bounden Daniel Ballance — is constituted and ted Guardian to R. KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS , That We Daniel Ballance James Walkins Jesse Peacock all of Johnston County , in the State aforesaid , are held and firmly bound unto the State of North Carolina , in the sum of Fifteen hundred dollars rent money , to be paid to the said State , in trust , for the benefit of the child hereafter named , committed to the tuition of the said Daniel Ballance to which payment well and truly to be made , we bind ourselves , and each of us , each and every of our heirs , executors and administrators , jointly and severally , firmly by these presents . Sealed with our seals , and dated the 22 day of Feb 1864 in the year of our Lord 1864 dollars , cur – The Condition of the above Obligation is such , That , whereas the above bounden Daniel Ballance is constituted and appointed Guardian to Robert T. Daniel Ballance Minor orphan Now if the said Daniel Ballance shall faithfully execute his said Guardianship , by securing and improving all the estate of the said Robert I Daniel Ballance that shall come into his possession for the benefit of the said Robert & Daniel Ballance until he shall arrive at full age , or be sooner thereto required , and then render a plain and true account of his said Guardianship , on oath , before the Justices of our said Court , and deliver up , pay to , or possess the said Robert Daniel Ballowe of all such estate or estates as he ought to be possessed of , or to such other persons as shall be lawfully empowered or authorized to receive the same , and the profits arising therefrom , then this obligation to be void ; otherwise , to be and remain in full force and virtue . Simon God and Barna Cruckall of Johnston County , in the State aforesaid , are held and firmly bound unto the State of North – Carolina , in the sum of Five hundred $ 500 dollars current money , to be paid to the said State , in trust , for the benefit of the children hereafter named , committed to the tuition of the said Are Soltonto which payment well and truly to be made , we bind ourselves , and each of us , each and every of our heirs , executors and administrators , jointly and severally , firmly by these presents .
