Albemrl. Ss: Willm. Earle of Craven, Palatine and the rest of the true nd absolute Lords proprietors, of all Carloina to all to whom these presents shall come Greeting in our Lord God everlasting Know ye, that we the sd Lords & absolute Proprietors according to our great deed of grant bearing date the first day of May Ano. De. 1668 Given to our County of Albermarle under our hands and great Seal of our sd. Province Doe hereby give and grant unto Capt. Ralph Fletcher of our sd. County a tract of land containing three hundred and seventy acres lying on Perquimons River Begining at a Gum on ye bank of the sd. River at the mouth of a Swamp thenc up the sd. Swamp by vaiour courses to a Redoak by the Swamp side thenc West ten degrs. North seventy poles to a pine by the River another corner tree of the sd Williams then downe the River by various courses to the first station. The sd. land being due to the sd. Ralph Fletcher for the transportation of Seven Psons into our sd. County as appears upon Record under this Patent To have and to hold the sd. land with all rights and previliges of hunting hawking fishing fowling with all woods waters and Rivers with all profits Comiditys and heriditants to the same belonging or apPtaining except one halfe of intents & purposes as by thsi sd. deed is granted or intended Yeilding and paying unto us or. heires & successors yearly evry. in free and comon Soccage Provided yt. if the sd. Ralph Fletcher doe not seat or plant thereon within three yeares after the trusty and well beloved Philip Ludwell esqr. Governr. and Capt.
