In the name of God amen I William ballance of North Carolina Johnston county being of Sound and perfect mind and memory, blessed be god do this the 1 of Oc tober in the year of our lord one-thousand Eight hundred and Thirty I here do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner following that iz to say
First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Peggy ballance all my land where I now Live During her natural life or widow hood
I also give unto my beloved wife Peggy Ballance all my household and kitchen furniture after paying my just Debts during her life or widowhood
I also give unto my beloved wife Peggy Ballance all of my flock of hogs, horses and cattle During her nature life or widowhood
I also give unto my beloved dauter Rebeca Waddel one feather bed bedstead and furniture also one cow
I also give unto my beloved dauter Famy Watkins all my Land on the north and east side of the Mill Branch also one set of Puter plates I also give to my beloved son & dauter Blackman Ballance and Elizabeth Ballance all my Land where I now live to be equly Divided be turn Them after the death of my ? beloved wife the Land to be ? east and west
I also give and bequith unto my beloved son and dauter Blackman Ballance and Elizabeth Batten all my House hold and kitchen furniture to be Equly Divded between the after the Death or widowhood of my wife.
I also give and bequeath unto my beloved son and dauter Blackman Ballance and ELizabeth Batten all hoggs and cattle to be Equly Divided after the death or widowhood of my wife and all the property I have given to Elizabeth Batten if she dies without any lawful heir begotten his boddy then to Blackman Ballance also all The property I have left to my son Blackmand Ballance if he dies without any his Lawfully begotten by his boddy then To his sister Elizabeth Batten
I also give unto my beloved son Blackman Ballance one feather bed bedstead and furniture after the death or widowhood of my wife also one Chest and Table after the death of my beloved wife
I also give and bequith unto my beloved grand Dauter: Peggy Watkins one Feather bed bedstead and furniture after the Death or widowhood of my wife and I all so give and bequith unto my beloved son Blackman Ballance and set of Puter plates and all the property that is not mention in my will I give unto my beloved wife Peggy Ballance during his life or widowhood then to be Eqly divided between my Dauter ELizabeth Batten and my son Blackman Ballance
I also give unto my beloved grandchildren Searbary RIchardson, Stephen Richardson, Patsey Richardson, Polly Richardson, James Richardson and Ceally Richardson Five Dolalrs to be Eqly Divided after the death of my wife Peggy Ballance
and I here by make and ordain my worthy friend Peggy Ballance and Edmund Ballance Executors of this my last will and Testament ? whereof I the said William Ballance have to this my last will and Testament set my hands and seal this day and year above written
